Welcome to Reagan IB - Principal Michael Roemer

"We have recently implemented several exciting programs to improve student success at Reagan IB. Our primary goal is to increase proficiency for all students and to enhance college readiness.  We are, after all, a college preparatory school and want to see every Reagan student attending college.

Our innovative College Prep Wednesday (CPW) program prepares students for the national ACT exam. At every Wednesday’s Extended Learning Opportunity (ELO) session, students work on strategies to improve their test taking skills, take practice tests, and reset goals for the next practice test. We want every student to be in the strongest position for both college and scholarship opportunities.  Data from these CPW practice tests clearly show a marked improvement in math and English scores. During other ELO sessions, students work on Personal Projects, Extended Essays, Internal Assessments, and CAS hours so they can successfully complete IB’s rigorous curriculum.

Added support and supervision have been built into the school day to benefit all students. We now host a Personalized Blended Learning Lab (PBL). This expansive computer lab allows students to work with individualized, highly-developed online programs and receive 1:1 teacher mentoring for credit accrual, to increase individual subject proficiency, or to be further challenged after mastering classroom coursework.

We are constantly improving the physical school environment.  The building was constructed in the early 1960s and we are bringing it into the 21st century. For us, that means out with the old and in with the ‘blue’ as we imprint the Reagan brand everywhere.  We are landscaping, painting, remodeling, upgrading, and expanding into the entire building space to best meet the diverse needs of students.

All members of the Reagan community is working diligently to meet our goal of success for every student. We appreciate your helpful support as we move forward.  Please do not hesitate to contact me at roemermx@milwaukee.k12.wi.us or 304-6105 to share your ideas, commitment, and concerns.”

Welcome to Reagan IB – IB Coordinator Jane Stone

“Our school has been a fully authorized International Baccalaureate school since 2010.  We fully participate in the IB continuum from 6th grade to 12th grade with our partnership with Wedgewood Park International School.  Our goal is to prepare students for greater success in our IB Diploma Programme once they reach their junior year.  These classes set students up for success in their careers beyond high school.

All Reagan IB students have the option of taking a variety of courses including: IB Literature HL, IB Literature and Performance SL, IB Spanish HL and SL, IB French HL and SL, IB Environmental Systems and Societies SL, IB History HL and SL, IB Psychology HL and SL, IB Biology HL and SL, IB Chemistry SL, IB Physics SL, IB Mathematics HL and SL, IB Mathematical Studies SL, IB Computer Science SL, IB Theatre HL, IB Film HL, IB Visual Arts HL, and IB Music HL and SL.

Students also have the incredible opportunity to showcase their academic and personal talents and engage in our full diploma program.  To be a full diploma student, students take six IB classes from each of the core subject groups, complete 150 Community Action Service (CAS) hours, and complete an Extended Essay in their Theory of Knowledge class.

In order to make our program successful, it takes a full team of teachers, community members, and parents to encourage our talented students on their journey.  Please do not hesitate to contact me for information about our IB program here at Reagan. I can be reached at corneljh@milwaukee.k12.wi.us or 304-6108.”
